  BACKGROUND.   Born and raised in the South Shroud, Kana and her siblings were taught to appreciate the simple things in life. They were educated on the importance of family and had a deep respect for the elementals, and never to take Nophica's blessings for granted.From a young age Kana showed a proclivity for hunting, able to make her own traps and feed her family by her 7th name day. She took pride in teaching her younger siblings the intricacies of archery, and looked up to her mother, whose aim was truly unmatched.But as she grew into her own, the dark haired miqo'te found herself drawn to a much gentler trade: the art of leatherworking.She learned quickly, observing the tribe's artisans by day and honing her own craft by firelight. Her progress and passion were clear to any onlooker. Kana knew she'd found her calling.By her fifteenth summer she finally received permission to move to Gridania to study with the Leather Worker's Guild. And so, with a dream in her heart and an awl on her belt, Kana set off.As the years passed her talent soared, and the young woman would be offered the esteemed position of personal tailor for the Elder Seed Seer herself.
